Why you MUST take your own medicine

Welcome to another episode of the Being an Ancestral Medicine Woman podcast. I’m so excited. I’m so grateful to be here. I want to talk to you today, really, about the importance of taking your medicine. Last night, in the Ancestral Medicine Woman Certification Program coaching call, we really focused on why it is so important for you to take your own medicine in order for you to be the greatest Ancestral Medicine Woman possible and for you to be the most ethical and experienced and skilled practitioner, period. 

All of the students in the Ancestral Medicine Woman Certification Program, their skill level is unmatched. You will not find another practitioner more thorough and more just gifted than the people who go through my program. The reason why is because we put such a strong emphasis on learning by doing. 

A lot of people have so much book knowledge, but do not have learned experience. They do not have that in the trenches. Like, damn, if something goes wrong, if it is not by the book, if we go off the pages, if the text is blurred or we steal something on the pages, most people don’t know what to do, right? 

The importance of you really taking your medicine means that you got to live this lifestyle. You have to eat, drink, breathe this lifestyle. So many people want to have 1ft in and 1ft out. I had a lot of people try to come into the program who weren’t fully committed to changing their own lives, and this is why they weren’t able to succeed because they wanted to be half in and half out. 

When you get initiated into the ancestral medicine tradition, you can’t half ass it. You can’t be half in and half out. You have to go all in. You have to commit to the journey. You got to commit to the process. You got to commit to your spiritual assignment. Like, you can’t half do anything. You can’t. Your clients will suffer as a result. Your patients will suffer as a result, like, you got to live it. This is why the healthcare system is in shambles right now, because there’s so many doctors out here that are unwell trying to talk to people about wellness. 

How is that a thing? How is that possible? How can you be unwell and talk to me about wellness? I want you to think about that. How is that a thing? 

When I say your doctor has a beer belly, I want you to look at, like, picture that. Think about the oxymoron. I want you to think about the fact that you are not well, and you are so desperate to feel better, you are so desperate to feel whole again. You go to the doctor, you go to the hospital, the person that is supposed to be the expert, and you get there and they look sick, too. How confident do you feel in their ability to help you heal? 

Now, there are doctors in the Ancestral Medicine Certification Program, and they will be the ones to revolutionize or revolutionize what the medical system looks like right now. I don’t call that health care, because it’s not. It’s kind of like sick care, sick management, but it’s not health care. We’re not caring for anybody’s health with this model that is being modelled in the hospitals. So, like I said we have doctors and the ancestral medicine woman, and they’ll be the ones to revolutionize the medical system. 

Now they will integrate ancestral medicine and ancestral practices into the institutions. Because some people are afraid to trust ancestral medicine. They’re afraid to trust us, the elders, the wisdom. They’re afraid to trust this knowledge, even though it’s encoded in our DNA. So they want to go to somebody who has a piece of paper or a credential that will make them feel a little bit safer, even though the number one cause for death is malpractice. But we could talk about that another day, right? 

It’s legal right now for them to prescribe things that make you addicted. It’s legal right now for them to prescribe things to you that make you sick. It’s legal right now for them to prescribe you something that will cause another disease. As long as they tell you this may cause side effects, it’s legal right now for you to smoke cigarettes, even though it’s directly linked to lung cancer. Just because it’s legal, just because it’s promoted, just because it’s popular, does not mean that it’s right. I need you to remember that because I always take the unconventional path, and sometimes I get reprimanded for it. It’s not traditional. 

But what people don’t realize is this medicine that I teach, this medicine that I take, this medicine that I create, this medicine that I practice is traditional. What’s not traditional is what we’re doing in the hospitals. What’s not traditional is what we’re doing in the medical system. That’s what’s not traditional. 

Traditional medicine is what I do. Traditional medicine is what I teach. Traditional medicine is who I am. 

But we forgot about that, right? We completely forgot about that. We put all of our trust into our colonizers. We put all of our trust into our abusers. I want you to think about if your parents hurt you, but you still trust them. You still go to them. You still take care of them. Like, we’ve been bred to act this way. Like, what if decolonizing medicine looked like questioning everything you were ever given and told, just questioning it, because when you do that, you are so empowered. Because when you start to think for yourself, life changes. It changes, right? 

I want you to think about if you have a dream, if you have a desire to help somebody heal. If you are an ancestral medicine woman, it’s so important that you take your own medicine. You have to take your own medicine because you have to be an example of what is possible for your clients, for your daughters, for your sons, for your lineage, for your ascended ancestors, for your elders that are still living. You got to be the example of what is possible. 

That’s how we are the ones to break the generational curses and diseases in our lineage. We take our own medicine. It’s really easy to tell somebody else what to do and not to practice it. When you do that, it’s really hard for you to ethically, intentionally, honestly, and authentically really know what somebody is going through or growing through and support them in a capacity that will really make them feel seen in hell. 

You got to live this life. You got to walk this path. You got to know this process inside and out, which is why during initiation, you go through the process, you address and heal your own trauma.

When you learn the Acashic Method, you are practicing it on yourself. This is how you gain mastery. If you want to be the best in your industry, you got to live, sleep, breathe, drink, eat. You got to live this life. You got to take your own medicine, you got to walk your talk. The Ancestral Medicine Woman Program changes who you are. When people try to come in and they try to half ass that they want to keep 1ft in this world, one 1ft out, they don’t get what they came for. They’ll try to blame it on a whole bunch of things, but they won’t get what they came for until they fully commit to the process, until they surrender to the process. 

I want to tell you something that when you surrender to the process, everything changes for you. When you stop trying to be so busy with doing and you just sit and lean into being, everything changes for you. 

I asked one of my students last night, like, what are you afraid of? What are you running from? Why are you in a rush? What you rushing for? We’re not going nowhere. If you committed to this path, you are in it for life, why are you in a rush? She told me that she gets anxious when she’s doing nothing because it feels like she should be doing everything. 

What I told her was that when you do nothing, everything starts to happen. When you stop trying to busy yourself with busy work and trying to do all of these things that have no direct connection to where you’re going, you end up in the same spiral. You don’t make any changes in life, and you did all of those things, but you really did nothing. But when you slow down and you stop and you intentionally implement and practice the things that you know that you should do, everything starts to happen. Even if you are just sitting and connecting with spirit, everything starts to happen just like that. 

What’s so important about this process and what’s so revolutionary about this program is that you are not only learning the tools and skills necessary to heal your body, heal your lineage, help your clients heal, you are also becoming an entirely different person. 

The way you think will be different. The way you address and operate, any obstacle, any task, any life event, you will approach it differently. 

The Ancestral Medicine Certification Program teaches you mastery. It is spiritual enlightenment mapped out in a blueprint. A lot of y’all think spiritual enlightenment. Enlightenment looks like something. Like, you have this picture of what it looks like in your head, and that’s not it. It’s peace. It’s this. You could still be yourself. You don’t have to look like something, you don’t have to be somebody. You don’t have to pretend to be something you’re not. You get to just be. 

It’s so important that you take your medicine. I want to say that again, this is the most important thing. If you are going to change the world the way you are meant to change the world, because only you can do the thing you’re put here to do. It starts with taking your medicine. It starts with being a master of your craft. It starts with being committed and dedicated. Stop making excuses about things that you have full control over. 

I’ll say that one more time. It starts with you not making excuses for the things that you have full control over. Because a lot of people, a lot of people give their power away to everything outside of them and make so many excuses about why they can’t do things. 

That’s why they can’t do things. It’s not because they really can’t do things. It’s because they told themselves that they couldn’t. They told themselves that they had a handicap. They told themselves that there was a limitation. They told themselves that there was this injustice or that injustice. So what? 

Make it happen by any means necessary. That’s how powerful you are. Remember that. Because that is so much medicine, right in itself. Remember that. 

It’s so important that you take your own medicine. It will change your life. It will change your life. I love you. Peace.
